Champions of the Future : Round 7 : July 17-19
Champions of the Future Academy Program America, delivering one of his strongest performances yet on the fast and technical Chicane layout.
From the moment qualifying began, Ben established himself as the driver to beat by becoming the first U-10 Mini driver to secure the overall Pole Position, topping the entire field with a blistering lap.
That speed carried straight into the heat races, where Ben claimed two U-10 heat victories while leading multiple races throughout the weekend. Consistently at the front of the pack, he showcased the racecraft, confidence, and pace needed to challenge for the overall win.
The final proved to be another thrilling battle, with Ben running at the front and firmly in contention for the overall victory. With just one lap remaining, however, a red-flag incident brought the race to an early conclusion before the fight for the win could be settled on track. Following the official race classification, Ben was awarded 2nd Overall and 2nd in the U-10 Mini division.
Although victory slipped away in dramatic fashion, Ben’s weekend was another statement performance—highlighted by overall pole position, multiple heat wins, and front-running speed from start to finish. His performance continues to establish him as one of the top young talents in the Champions of the Future Academy Program.
ROK Fest West : Sonoma : July 10-12
Ben Monroy Dominates ROK Fest West at Sonoma Raceway
ROK Fest West at Sonoma Raceway is one of the premier events on the karting calendar, featuring an incredible prize package and one of the most scenic and challenging circuits in the country. With a coveted ticket to ROK Vegas on the line, the stage was set for an unforgettable weekend.
Ben Monroy wasted no time establishing himself as the driver to beat. From the opening free practice sessions on Thursday through Sunday’s final, he showcased exceptional speed, consistency, and racecraft, leading the way every time he hit the track.
The weekend ended in spectacular fashion as Ben completed a clean sweep of the Micro ROK category. After dominating every phase of the event, he crossed the finish line more than 11 seconds ahead of the competition, sealing an emphatic victory and earning his ticket to ROK Vegas this October.
Working alongside Calvo Driver Development, Ben and the team made all the right adjustments throughout the weekend as track conditions evolved, maintaining their pace and executing a flawless race weekend from start to finish.
The commanding performance at Sonoma further cements Ben’s status as one of the top young drivers in the Micro ROK category and provides tremendous momentum heading into the ROK Vegas Finals.
Champions of the Future America : Round 6 : June 26-28
Successful Debut for Ben Monroy at Champions of the Future America Round 6
Ben Monroy made an immediate impact in his first appearance at Champions of the Future America Round 6, delivering an outstanding performance that established him as one of the drivers to watch.
From the opening sessions, Ben showed impressive speed and quickly adapted to the new Presa tires, putting his Croc Promotions Mini-U10 kart at the front of the field. He carried that pace into the heat races, capturing every U-10 heat race victory while battling among the faster Mini class competitors.
Ben completed a clean sweep of the Mini-U10 division, demonstrating exceptional racecraft, consistency, and adaptability throughout the weekend. Racing against experienced competition, he consistently ran at the front and proved he could contend with the overall Mini field.
The dominant performance marked a memorable debut in the series and showcased Ben’s ability to quickly adapt to new equipment and challenging competition, providing plenty of momentum heading into the next round.
SKUSA Pro Kart Challenge : Sonoma : Round 3 : May 21 – 24
After a challenging start to the season, Ben headed to Sonoma focused on one thing — maximizing points and closing the gap in the championship standings.
From the start of the weekend, the speed was there to compete for a podium. However, taking the top step would not come easy with a very strong NorCal field.
Ben qualified P3 on Saturday, a solid starting position considering the challenges of Turn 1 when lining up on the outside row.
In the heat race, Ben quickly moved forward from third place and settled in behind the leader while managing the pace. On the final lap, he made a decisive pass for the lead and captured the heat race win.
Starting on pole for the main event gave Ben the opportunity to control the race early and put himself in position for a strong points weekend. He led the opening laps before briefly dropping to second place. A few laps later, Ben fought back to retake the lead and went on to hold the top spot for the next twelve laps, securing an important victory at Sonoma.
The win was a huge step forward in the championship battle and a strong rebound performance for the team.
CCKRA :Buttonwillow, CA : Round 2 : May 16-17
We made a last-minute decision to head north to Buttonwillow to get some extra track time and preparation ahead of next week’s big race weekend.
The competition was strong all day, and we found ourselves in several close battles throughout the event. We qualified P2, which put us in a good position heading into the heat races.
In Heat Race 1, I stayed patient and made a last-lap pass to take the win. Going into the pre-main, the goal was to maintain position and put ourselves in control for the main event. Unfortunately, we came up just short and finished P2.
For the main race, the strategy was simple: survive the opening corner, settle into position, and wait for the right moment to make a move for the lead. That plan worked perfectly. I worked together with the leader to create a gap to the rest of the field, then with two laps remaining, I made the winning pass and secured the Mini Swift victory for the weekend.
It was a great weekend of racing and valuable preparation heading into next week’s big event.
